Just back from a New York City trip to talk (quickly) about "The Death of the Grown-Up" on "Fox & Friends" Friday morning, and to tape the political roundtable segment of "Lou Dobbs This Week" (airing, as usual, on CNN at 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday). On the way out of town, I popped into a Borders to check on the book and, in talking to some nice sales clerks, learned that a customer who had seen my morning show appearance had actually come in looking for the book--proof that it was well worth waking up at 4:45 a.m. to make the show.
Of course, she couldn't quite remember my name or the book's title. She left the store still looking through her purse for the piece of paper she had written all the info down on (I have a purse like that, too). But it was a nice vignette just the same. Just another 30 seconds of airtime and we might have made the sale.
I'll be starting off next week with a Monday morning interview on The Laura Ingraham Show in the 11 o'clock hour (EST). We must all be grateful to Laura, whose huge new book, "Power to the People," just knocked Bill Clinton's latest tome out of the top slot at Barnes & Noble. Congrats, Laura!
