This is a photo of a skate shop in Amsterdam, and the message says: "PVV-voters not welcome." (PVV voters are Geert Wilders voters.) What would Hans Brinker say?
Gates of Vienna has this and related stories about the Islamic-Left reaction (not happy) to Wilders' strong showing in last week's Dutch elections.
Meanwhile, the snapshot below came to me via Janet Levy and is said to have been taken by an Israeli traveller transiting through Turkey
I don't know the provenance for sure, but the snapshot is a good illustration for the following story:
"Simon Wisenthal Center Issues Travel Advisory to Turkey"
LOS ANGELES, June 17 — /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Simon Wiesenthal Center is issuing a travel advisory urging its 400,000 constituent families and the Jewish community to defer any non-essential travel to Turkey.
That would include all Jews, including Israelis, reflecting the reality of anti-semitic aggression generally in Turkey. Just as shocking, though, is this whopper in the declaration:
"For 500 years, Jews have found a safe haven in Turkey, but the unprecedented campaign of escalating rhetoric demonizing the people of Israel emanating from official circles and elements of the media has created an unprecedented toxic environment which has spread fear among Turkish Jews and raises profound concerns for their safety and the safety of any Jew visiting the country," said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the Center. ...
For 500 years Jews (let alone Christians) have found safe haven in Turkey? Under the Ottomans, it was a haven of systematic Islamic dhimmitude; under the republic it is a haven of systematic Turkish discrimination -- dhimmitude by another name. (See Andrew Bostom's The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism for details.)
But I digress. We're talking about who's "not welcome" in the global public square. The answer is Jews, dogs and PVV voters. Scapegoatable, expendable ... and a dire threat to the Islamo-Leftist status quo.
