Twenty-one-years ago today, I woke up before the rest of the household, as was customary, and went to my desk to write (ditto). I did not go online to scan the news, which was unusual. I was working on an editorial for the Washington Times which I needed to bat out quickly and without distraction. The morning unfolded in happy clamor. I got the dog walked, the kids to school, all in a state of ignorance about how it was that the world had changed. 

Heading back home, I passed a neighbor who answered my greeting with a long face -- she later told me she realized instantly I "didn't know yet."  I knew nothing about September 11 yet except that it was a gorgeously fine day.

Then, a little later, maybe simultanesouly hearing my husband's shout and seeing the above Drudge Report headline, I knew.

Scott Perry: “This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone,” the Pennsylvania Republican said in a statement issued through his office. “They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish.”

It so happens that shortly before President Trump announced Mar-A-Lago had been raided (and the DOJ had no comment), I posted a Patreon video linking actions and personalities of the early days of the Great Terror of the French Revolution with actions and personalities of the electoral coup of November 3- January 6 and the 20 months that have followed since.
